A cyanotype workshop not only teaches a historical photographic technique but also encourages creativity and experimentation.

Summer Workshops

I'm excited to launch a summer workshop series at my studio in Bend, Oregon! Explore the magic of cyanotype with me and take home your very own custom-made print!

What to expect

For two hours you'll act as a botanist and photographer, documenting plant specimens through cyanotype. It's an opportunity to slow down and appreciate the hands-on process of making art. Participants can expect a hands-on experience, learning about the history and chemistry behind the magic of cyanotype photography. By the end of the workshop, participants will have a beautiful blue hand-made print, a deeper understanding of photographic history, and a newfound appreciation for the blend of science and art that cyanotypes represent.

More workshop dates coming soon!

Workshops will be held in-person at my studio in the Old Mill District in Bend, Oregon. Light snacks and beverages will be served.

Frequently Asked

Do I need prior experience?

This workshop is created for those of all skill levels! You do not need to be a photographer or artist to participate - just come ready to make something beautiful!

What should I bring?

You don't need to bring anything with you other than your creativity. Botanicals or negatives will be provided but you are more than welcome to bring something from home! Since we'll be placing the items under a piece of glass while exposing, I suggest bringing semi flat items.

Can I bring my own image to print?

If you have a photo you'd like to try sun-printing, send me an email and we can talk about whether or not it'll be a good choice!

Is this a messy process?

Nope! But accidents do happen! I would suggest wearing something you wouldn't mind getting stained or dirty.

What is your cancellation policy?

When registering for this workshop, you are doing so with the intent on attending. Since space is limited and materials are purchased before the event, cancellations will be considered on an case by case basis. If you must cancel, I'll be sad to see you go! A refund will be given as a form of credit to the online shop or for future events.

Will there be future events?

You bet! Keep an eye on social media or my email newsletter for future workshops.
